FBC: Firebreak, the first multiplayer game to ever come from Remedy Entertainment, is currently set to release on June 17. The news comes via the latest developer stream of the game, which you can watch below. The game is slated to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X at $39.99. The Deluxe Edition will cost an extra $10, and include cosmetics and voice packs.
Anyone subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or Xbox Game Pass for PC will be able to play the standard game without further purchase. Over the course of the nearly two hour stream, various developers gave a lot of insight towards what you can expect from the game.

A mix of new releases and last year’s titles that are still selling well.
What is FBC: Firebreak?
In FBC: Firebreak, you and your two teammates play as members of the Firebreak team. These are employees of the Federal Bureau of Control that volunteer to fight back against the Hiss following the interdimensional beings taking over The Oldest House from Control.
You will take on various missions, or jobs, to take down various paranormal artifacts and enemies. For example, in Paper Chase, sticky notes are multiplying and taking over the bodies of bureau agents that get overwhelmed. You will work to destroy thousands of sticky notes scattered all over the place as well as enemies who charge at you covered in sticky notes called shufflers.
FBC: Firebreak will receive additional content after launch in the form of new jobs to play which everyone will have access to for free. There will be battle passes that players can buy into that act similarly to the warbonds you find in Helldivers 2. All content that can be found in those requisitions will always be available for players to access, so there is no need to worry about FOMO (as long as the servers are on).
Customizing Jobs
There are three ways that jobs can be adjusted in the menus before you begin. First, clearance level. This number is set between one and three and decides how many sections you fight through before the mission can be completed.
The higher clearance, the more ground you have to cover. Threat level decides the intensity of enemies attacking. The third form of customization, corruption, was not shown in detail, but it affects the randomized elements of the mission.
Loadouts
Loadouts play a big role in how your character will perform in jobs. There are three crisis kits you can choose from that behave differently from each other, and all of them are designed for certain context areas that will aid your team.
- Splash Kit: Fires water to put out fires and stun enemies
- Fix Kit: Gives you a giant wrench for fixing machines or attacking enemies in melee
- Jump Kit: An electrified weapon that shocks enemies and powers machines but also lets you reach high areas.
Objects of Power will be felt throughout FBC: Firebreak like they were in Control. One particular example we saw of equipment you can use is a garden gnome that calls in an electrical storm for a prolonged period. It is unknown as of this writing if content updates will include new crisis kits or equipment additions.
FBC: Firebreak is focused on expanding and building up the world that Control introduced. We know that game will be getting a direct sequel in the future, but this seems to be a smaller experimental project for Remedy as the team work towards that goal and other projects in the pipeline, like the Max Payne remake or a potential Alan Wake 3.
