Honor Globally Launches The MagicPad 2 And Honor Watch 5

Honor is present in Berlin today, at IFA 2024, showing off some of their newest devices. We’ve gotten a good look at one of the sexiest foldables in town, the Honor Magic V3, but that’s not close to everything that the Chinese manufacturer is ready to show to the world.

If you’re a big Android tablet person, you’re going to be excited to hear that Honor has just launched the MagicPad 2 globally — it’s a fantastic tablet as you’ll see soon. And for the smartwatch lovers in the crowd, the Honor Watch 5 is joining it on center stage.

The Honor MagicPad 2 Is A 12.3-Inch Tablet For Productivity And Entertainment

The flagship tablet segment isn’t the biggest market out there, despite the fact that you’d naturally assume that tablets, trying to be closer to devices like laptops, would come with plenty of power. Nah, most tablets seem just to be a means for a bigger screen. That’s why when I see a really powerful tablet, I get very excited. The Honor MagicPad 2 is one of those.

The first thing that you’ll notice with this tablet is its 12.3-inch 144Hz OLED display. It has a 3000×1920 resolution, 4,320Hz PWM dimming to protect your eyes, and it can go up to 1,600 nits. If you’ll be using it for watching movies, it is IMAX Enhanced-certified and has DTS audio and eight — yes, eight — speakers.

If you’re using it for productivity or gaming, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 won’t let you down, especially with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage by your side. You get a massive 10,050 mAh battery along with 66W fast charging — tablets have much larger batteries so I always love to see them come with proper fast charging. You’re likely not buying a tablet for its camera, but you get a 13MP primary unit and a 9MP selfie cam.

The Honor MagicPad comes in Moonlight White and Black colorways, and you’ll be able to buy one for yourself right away, from Honor’s official website. It only costs £499, which is a much better price than I’d have expected.

The Honor Watch 5 Offers A Big Rectangular Display And 15 Days Of Battery Life

Do you get more excited about smartwatches than any other kind of device? Well, you should be glad to hear that the Honor Watch 5 is finally here, and weighing in at just 35g, it looks pretty good.

You get a 1.85-inch rectangular AMOLED display — for those who prefer them to the more popular circular options — with a 450×390 screen resolution. You also get a 480 mAh battery packed into this, despite its mere 11mm thickness. With that, Honor promises 15 days of battery life. If that claim pans out, this will be an exceptional smartwatch for those looking for endurance.

You get the usual health tracking features, like being able to check your heart rate and your blood oxygen levels as well. You also get Honor’s AccuTrack system, which makes your GPS accuracy much more precise. It surely wouldn’t be a bad idea to pair this smartwatch with your Honor Magic V3.

The Honor Watch 5 has no pricing information at the moment, but it will be available in Black, Gold, and Green colorways in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland at a date to be announced in the future.
