The Honor Magic V Flip Launches On June 13th In China
Honor is making impressive strides in the foldable department with its Honor Magic V2, which is one of the thinnest and lightest foldables that you can get right now, without compromising on performance to any notable degree. It’s pretty nice to look at too.
The company has yet to add a clamshell foldable to its portfolio, but it’s no surprise that they’ve been working on one and we’ve been hotly anticipating it. In fact, that first clamshell foldable, called the Honor Magic V Flip, is now officially confirmed to be launching in China on June 13th at 7:30 PM local time.
There’s no news as to whether this device is going to get an international launch but it would be great if it did because it seems to be quite a looker. I’m also expecting Honor to load it up with specs that potentially place it near the top (if not at the very top) of the clamshell foldables which are currently available right now.
The Honor Magic V Flip Has Seemingly The Biggest Cover Display On A Clamshell Foldable Ever
There are only a few specs for the Honor Magic V Flip that have been confirmed, but the design of the smartphone on the inside and outside has been shown in full, so let’s talk about that first. The Honor Magic V Flip looks absolutely gorgeous, so it makes sense why Honor plans to release it at a Technology Fashion Show.
The first thing that you’ll notice about the Magic V Flip is its massive cover display which is as edge-to-edge as any cover display that I’ve ever seen. Sure, it does have one big cutout and a smaller cutout for the camera, but this looks set to be at least a 4-inch cover display, which will beat all clamshell foldables that are currently available (the Razr 50 Ultra might beg to differ when it comes out though). Notably, the LED flash is positioned on the bottom half of the device, away from the actual camera lenses.
On top of that, the device has three gorgeous colorways: Camelia White which has a marble-like finish, Champagne Pink which goes for a glittery grid-like texture, and Iris Black which has a beautiful sheen to it. There’s even going to be a fourth limited edition colorway designed by Jimmy Choo (and bound to come with a higher price tag).
In the spec department, the device will be available with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. It’s also rumored that it will have a 4,500 mAh battery, 66W fast charging, and a 50MP primary camera.
