How to Beat Scar (Boss Overview) – Wuthering Waves

How to Beat Scar in Wuthering Waves (+Tips)

Listed below are several tips that’ll help you beat Scar in both of his phases/forms much easier:

Scar’s Two Boss Phases

Depending on where you encounter him, Scar has two phases:

  • Scar: Lightbane Reversal [First Phase]
  • Scar: Aberrant Nightmare [Second Phase]

You’ll first meet Scar during Main Story Chapter 1 Act III: Ominous Star, and there, you’ll be able to fight his First Phase only.

Scar’s Second Phase appears after his First Phase the second time you meet him during Main Story Chapter 1 Act IV: Clashing Blades, and once you beat him then, you’ll gain access to his Weekly Boss fight, where you can fight both of his phases in exchange for various Weekly Boss rewards.

NOTE: Scar’s First Phase (Lightbane Reversal) and Second Phase (Abberant Nightmare) have different movesets.

Always Parry or Dodge

Dodging or Parrying as many attacks as you can is practically a must, especially if you’re going against Scar as some of his attacks can lock you in an unescapable, high-damage combo.

TIP: If you’re a beginner to Wuthering Waves’ combat system or you just want to play it safe, then we highly advise dodging more than parrying, as it carries a lower risk of failing. Also, most of Scar’s moves are multi-hit combo strings, so we recommend always being ready to double-dodge or more after every initial attack.

Make Sure Your Main DPS is Upgraded

Once you memorize Scar’s moveset and are able to punish all of them, then it becomes a matter of dealing as much damage as you can so you can finish the boss fight fast.

Thus, we recommend making sure that your Main DPS is maxed out in terms of their Echoes, Resonator Level, Skill Levels, and Weapon, as this’ll help you deal more damage and clear the boss fight much easier.

Use Your Finisher at 50% Health (Main Story Only)

In the Main Story, you can deal tons of damage to Scar by using your Finisher—as shown in the image above.

The Finisher button usually pops up once a boss drops down to a certain amount of health, and for Scar, it’s at 50% HP. Use it as soon as it appears to beat Scar faster!

Do note that Finishers are only accessible if you fight Scar in the Main Story Quests. You won’t be able to use it against him in his Weekly Boss fight.

Scar Bossfight Location & Rewards

Once you’ve cleared Main Story Chapter 1 Act IV: Clashing Blades, you can unlock Scar’s Weekly Boss fight in Huanglong, Qichi Village.

Here’s a list of rewards that you can get from Scar’s Weekly Boss fight:

To enter the Scar boss fight and farm the rewards listed above, look for a red portal, as shown below. This will lead you to the Chaotic Juncture Ember page, where you’ll be able to choose the difficulty of the fight:

Of course, the higher the difficulty, the more rewards you get. Make sure to always pick the highest difficulty you can to farm the most items, especially since you only get three chances to claim Weekly Boss rewards per week, with one attempt at claiming a reward costing 60 Waveplates.

Higher difficulties are locked behind a Sol3 requirement, so if you want to unlock higher difficulties, you’ll have to farm lots of Union EXP and increase your Sol3 Levels via Phase Ascensions.
