How to fix an Apple watch not getting notifications

By default, your alerts will show up on your iPhone when it is unlocked and they will be forwarded to your Apple Watch if the device is locked. Apple Watches provides notifications right on your wrist. It goes without saying that a problem with the alerts defeats the purpose of the gadget and can reduce your productivity.

Even if your iPhone is locked, one of the following factors may be to blame if your Apple Watch isn’t receiving notifications:

• Your iPhone and Apple Watch are no longer connected.
• When Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb, or Power Reserve is activated
• Wrist detection is ineffective.
• Notifications are disabled or hidden.

Steps to check if your Apple Watch is not getting notifications:

CHECK YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION:

Verify that Airplane Mode is not on and that your iPhone is online.

RESTART YOUR DEVICES:

Sometimes all it takes is to restart. Restarting your iPhone and Apple Watch is your best option to see if it resolves your notification issues.

UNPAIR YOUR DEVICES:

• Put your gadgets near to one another.
• On your iPhone, launch the Apple Watch app.
• At the top of the screen, select “All Watches.”
• Tap the I icon next to the Apple Watch that you want to unpair.
• Choose “Unpair Apple Watch” from the menu.

RECONNECT YOUR APPLE WATCH:

• Swipe up to access the Control Center on your Apple Watch.

• The devices are linked when a tiny green iPhone icon appears at the top.
• You must reconnect the devices if you just see a red “x” or an iPhone icon.
• Ensure that the gadgets are close to one another.
• Activate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
• Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch.
