How to Play ‘Banjo-Kazooie’ on the Nintendo Switch – Review Geek

After a decades-long absence, the original Banjo-Kazooie has officially returned to Nintendo hardware. Gamers can now ejnjoy the retro platformer on their Switch, though you have to go through a few steps to get things set up.

To unlock Banjo-Kazooie on Switch, you need to sign up for Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This service costs $50 a year for individuals or $80 a year for families (I suggest splitting the family plan with six other people). That’s a bit more than you’d pay for a normal Switch Online subscription, but the Expansion pack unlocks a library of N64 and Sega Genesis games, plus DLC for Animal Crossing.

Signing up for the Switch Online + Expansion Pack is easy. Just visit the Nintendo website, sign in with the account that you use for your Switch, and subscribe. You can also tap the “Switch Online” tab at the bottom of your Switch home screen to join the service.

If you’re a Switch Online member upgrading to the Expansion Pack, Nintendo will give you a discount based on how many months are left in your original subscription.

To make the most of your slow decent into retro 3D platforming, I suggest picking up an official Nintendo 64 Switch controller. This wireless gamepad perfectly recreates the original N64 controller but features a much more durable thumbstick, thank goodness.
