Huion Kamvas Pro 19 Review

With the Kamvas Pro 19 drawing tablet, Huion comes in swinging with its professional-level tablet, offering premium features that not-so-subtly match up to — and even exceed — the competition. The specs are impressive, but can this tablet really deliver a top-tier experience during daily professional and recreational use? Here is my review.

Wow, this display!

Once it’s out of the box and powered on, the first thing users will notice about the Kamvas Pro 19 is the display. This 18.4” 4K screen is simply brilliant, with a high resolution that is well-suited to accurate drawing, and a size that allows enough room for comfortable drawing without being too big to the point of sacrificing portability. It was a positive first impression, and that positivity only grew during use. With its factory-calibrated accurate colours and good brightness, as well as its matte, anti-glare coating, there’s a heck of a lot to like here.

Pen is mightier

Another big highlight is Huion’s Pentech 4.0. Using either the standard or slim pen — both of which are pleasingly included in the box — users can accurately convey ideas to digital paper by way of over 16,000 levels of pressure, tilt support, side buttons, and built-in erasers. After seeing many would-be fantastic drawing tablets be ruined by their pens, it’s good to see Huion pushing all aspects of its product’s features forward.

Go ahead and touch it

While the pen is very effective, there are times when users want to simply reach out and use their fingers to switch between projects or quickly manipulate objects by rotating, for example. Well, the Huion Pro 19 has multi-touch support, meaning users can go ahead and touch to interact.

Buy on Amazon

During a time when product boxes include fewer and fewer accessories, it’s good to see Huion giving users extras in the box. The main highlight is the Bluetooth programmable keypad with included dial. This is a neat little addition that I really wasn’t expecting, and it works well.

Also worth noting is that the Kamvas Pro 19 supports reverse charging. It surprised me, but it’s there for folks who are caught in a pinch.

The day-to-day experience of using the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 has been superb. It functions like a top-tier drawing tablet should. The screen doesn’t falter, and the pen is consistent in its overall feel and output. After a few days, the technology melts away and you feel as though you’re simply putting a physical pen to physical paper — which is the best compliment I can give.

A minor nitpick

If I had to nitpick, as the Kamvas Pro 19 has been perfect 99% of the time, there are those rare moments where touch controls fail or lead to an unintended action. The included glove is nice, but better palm rejection would be welcome.

Final Verdict

At $1099 (or $939 on sale at the time of writing), the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 offers serious value for professional creatives and hobbyists alike. With its stunning 4K display, premium pen tech, multi-touch support, and thoughtful extras like the Bluetooth keypad and reverse charging, Huion delivers a package that not only competes with more expensive alternatives but in many ways surpasses them.

While the occasional hiccup with touch input could be improved, it’s a small blemish on what is otherwise an outstanding device. For those seeking a reliable, feature-rich drawing experience without breaking the bank, the Kamvas Pro 19 is easy to recommend.

Positives and Negatives

  • Excellent pen performance

  • Good extras included in the box

  • Reverse charging is a nice surprise

  • Very rare touch input hiccups
