To say that Samsung has been slow with its release of One UI 7 would be understating it. Not a single consumer has One UI 7 in their hands as of now, and when you realize that a lot of less dominant manufacturers have already released their own versions of Android 15, it makes you wonder why the company is so slow.
However, this day brings good tidings of One UI 7. Unfortunately, even at that, it is merely news of the beta and now the actual release version, but we’ll take it. If the rumors are true, One UI 7 might finally be in two regions in less than a week’s time.
Rumor Has It That The One UI 7 Beta Is Coming On November 17th
If you’re expecting the stable version of One UI 7 to come out in 2024, you can stop expecting. That won’t be happening, as Samsung has already confirmed that the new OS will only be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which might likely be in late January.
In the meantime, you’ll have to make do with the beta version of One UI 7, which Samsung confirmed was coming “before the end of the year.” According to Ice Universe, that time is essentially here. The reputable Samsung leaker has “predicted” that the One UI 7 beta will start on November 17th. He doesn’t mention specific smartphones, but we can expect the S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 to get blessed with it.
As you can see from the tweet above, the US and South Korea are going to be getting the beta first, which is good news. However, there’s still one big question, and that’s whether the beta in question will even be a public beta. Samsung said that its beta would be available to developers first, so that might be what’s bound to start in about a week. That would mean regular users might still have to wait a little bit longer.
One UI 7 May Represent The Biggest UI Overhaul For Samsung In Recent Memory
As One UI 7 takes its sweet time to arrive, we’ve been sated by leaks and rumors letting us know what One UI 7 be bringing to the table. For now, most of that weight is in the visual overhaul that Samsung is planning. It’s not on the same scale as TouchWiz being retired for One UI, but as a regular One UI user, you’ll certainly notice the differences.
One major thing is the number of visual changes coming. A lot of the icons for Samsung apps are going to change. For instance, the Gallery, Settings, and Camera icons are different in the screenshot above. You can also notice that the search bar for the app drawer is at the bottom. There’s a new animation when plugging a device to charge too.
The notification and quick settings shades are now going to be separate, which is another massive change that will take a lot of getting used to. Tipsters who have been fortunate enough to handle a device on One UI 7, such as Ice Universe, attest to the fluidity of the OS. It’s annoying, but if Samsung is going to deliver something exceptional, it should take its time.
