iPhone 12 Inspired The Xiaomi Mi 11 To Ditch The Charger

Xiaomi’s CEO has pretty much confirmed that the company’s upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship won’t include a charger. It seems like Apple’s iPhone 12 inspired the company’s upcoming flagship to ditch it.

As most of you know by now, Apple decided not to include a charger with the iPhone 12 series. Both Samsung and Xiaomi jumped to mock Apple, and yet flagship handsets from both companies will ship without chargers.

It’s official, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is coming without a charger

Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed the news via a Weibo post from his official account. Needless to say, users didn’t react in the best way. Apple’s move not to include a charger with the iPhone 12 series wasn’t exactly accepted well by the community.

Not many people expected Xiaomi to follow suit that soon, but there you go. Mr. Jun also cited environmental protection, the same as Apple. He also said that he’s aware that backlash from users will follow.

Xiaomi’s CEO did share the retail box of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship. That box will, of course, be considerably thinner than it would be if a charger was included. You’ll also be able to find some features of the phone written on it.

The phone will feature a 108-megapixel main camera

This box confirms that a 108-megapixel main camera will be included, and the same goes for a Super AMOLED display. That display will offer HDR 10+ certification, while Harman Kardon audio tuning will also be a part of the package.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 will launch later today, on December 28. Do note that the launch event will occur in China, while the global event will probably follow early next year.

The company is expected to announce two Mi 11 handsets, the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro. That is, at least, what the rumors have been saying. Both of those phones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 888. More information is expected to follow soon, so stay tuned.
