The rumored update to the iPhone SE is getting closer to production, with it possibly joined by a new iPad Air early in 2025.
After the release of the iPhone 16 generation, the rumor mill’s attention now turns to the iPhone SE. The model that hasn’t been updated since its March 2022 third-gen release is due an upgrade, which is believed to happen early in 2025.
In preparation for the launch, Apple has to set its supply chain in motion months ahead. According to sources of Bloomberg, production is getting close for the model.
The model is likely to include a lot of changes, with rumors proposing it could be based on the iPhone 14‘s design. The display could finally make the upgrade to OLED instead of LCD, with a 6.1-inch edge-to-edge screen now expected.
As for what could be inside powering it, the iPhone SE 4 may use a newer processor like the A18, in order to run Apple Intelligence.
Tuesday’s report also touched upon other changes for the iPad side, specifically dealing with the iPad Air. An update to the 11-inch and 13-inch models are on the cards, albeit one involving “internal improvements.”
The report stops short on identifying the chips the iPad Air will use, but did say that new accessories will be inbound. This includes a new keyboard that may gain some elements from the updated iPad Pro Magic Keyboard.
