Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) played the new host of the morning program, Laura Peterson, in season 2 of “The Morning Show.” It’s being reported today that Marguilies will be returning for Season 3 which is now underway.

Emmy Award winner Margulies’ return follows the recent casting of Mad Men star Jon Hamm, who will portray Paul Marks, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Billy Crudup’s Cory Ellison, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson into his powerful orbit.

Margulies’ character shook up the dynamic between morning anchors Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) last season, eventually beginning a relationship with Bradley.

Margulies told The Hollywood Reporter during season two: “I found her to be such a compelling, interesting character. When you meet her, she’s already gone through the fire and has come out the other side. She’s comfortable in her own skin, there are no skeletons in her closet, and she is completely at a place in her career that is at the top. She wants from no one. She’s only enjoying her life and who she is in the world.”
