Kanye West ‘DONDA’ Apple Music Records

Kanye West‘s delayed studio album DONDA finally hit streaming service on Sunday morning and it instantly broke several records on Apple Music, the platform that also livestreamed the listening events in Atlanta and Chicago.

In its first 24 hours, the 27-track project hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Albums chart in 152 countries, was streamed more than 60 million times in the United States alone, is 2021’s most-streamed album and artist in a day and the third most played album on its first day of release in Apple Music. Tracks from DONDA also claimed 19 of the top 20 spots on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 Global songs chart.

DONDA is currently on track to become Ye’s best-selling album since 2013’s Yeezus, with projections stating that the album could earn at least 300,000 units in its first week. If the forecasts are correct, West will set a new record for the most No. 1 albums this century.
