Kanye West roasted after bizarre Apple Music event, album nowhere to be seen

Kanye West held a listening event for his new album Donda which was live-streamed exclusively on Apple Music on Thursday night, however, his bizarre appearance at the show, and the fact his album is nowhere to be seen seems to have set the internet on fire.

As announced earlier this week, Kanye held an exclusive live event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in front of 42,000 people. It was also live-streamed exclusively on Apple Music.

Fans in the stadium and on the internet were left bemused, however, when the rapper showed up for the show at 9:50 pm EST, almost two hours late. USA Today reports that West walked around the stage for 48 minutes as his new album played (very loudly) through the stadium’s speakers. West reportedly didn’t speak at all during the event and then simply left.

As you can imagine Twitter was alight with comments, joking about the fact that Kanye was late and the strange nature of his performance. Stranger still, however, is that Friday has come without any sign of Kanye’s new album actually appearing on Apple Music, or any other platform for that matter, which seems to have finally tipped Twitter over the edge:

Kanye’s new album includes collaborations with Lil Baby, Travis Scott, and even Jay-Z. Some fans joked that this isn’t the first time Kanye has kept fans in suspense, harkening back to the release of Jesus is King, which came out four weeks later than originally planned.

This isn’t the first time Kanye and Apple have made headlines, in August of 2020 the rapper claimed that he was foiled in filing his campaign ballot for the 2020 Presidential election on time because of a faulty iPhone alarm.

As the man himself once said; “you should be honored by my lateness.”
