Karapitiya Hospital doctors on token strike

COLOMBO (News 1st); Doctors at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital have commenced a token strike from today (26) morning.

The director of the hospital Dr. Shelton Perera stated that the doctors stepped away from their duties from 8 AM to 12 noon today (26) and as a result, clinical and outpatient activities were hampered.

The doctors were on a token strike in protest of a circular issued by the Treasury stating that they will not pay overtime above their basic salary.
