Launched on January 17 during Samsung’s Unpacked event held in San Jose, the Galaxy S24 series is already available to pre-order. Suppose you’ve got a Galaxy smartphone lying around. In that case, Samsung offers enhanced trade-in values of up to $750 if you trade it in for the 256GB Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is automatically upgraded to 512GB when pre-ordering.

  • Galaxy S23 Ultra: $750
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5: $750
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra: $650
  • Galaxy S23+: $650
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4: $600
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4: $600
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: $600
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5: $600
  • Galaxy S22+: $550
  • Galaxy S23: $550
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra: $550
  • Galaxy S22: $450
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3: $450
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5G: $450

The crazy thing is that if you have a Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 9+, Galaxy Note 8, or Galaxy Note 10 from yesteryear, Samsung is offering $400 in trade-in value. That’s a whole chunk of change for devices that are certainly getting on in years, some of which may have real-world values of less than $100.

Besides the trade-in value, which drops the immediate cost of the Galaxy S23 Ultra by up to $750, there’s the automatic upgrade from 256GB to 512GB or 512GB to 1TB to consider, which is worth an additional $120/$240 respectively.

Note: When trading in a device, to get the full value, it should be able to boot up normally, charge and transfer data, be totally factory reset with no accounts or software locks active, and the front/back panels must be free of cracks. Finally, it mustn’t be blacklisted or listed as stolen.
