In a new trailer shown during the ID@Xbox March event, it was announced that Last Oasis, a popular survival game that has been available on PC for several months, is also out right now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles. The game is in Game Preview, much like the PC version which is in Steam Early Access.
The thing that makes Last Oasis stand out from survival games is its mobile sand walkers that serve as player bases. While your base is typically static in most survival titles, this isn’t the case in Last Oasis. This heavily incentivises players to explore the world as much as possible, which will no doubt lead to fun player interactions and cool discoveries in the game’s world.
The walkers aren’t just for convenience, though; Last Oasis takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the sun’s heat can scorch the Earth, and if you don’t stay out of the hottest areas as the planet rotates, you’ll meet a tragic hyperthermic death. Therefore, you’ll need to make sure that you’re constantly moving your walker away from the encroaching danger.
Other features in the game include a complex player-driven economy, skill-based melee combat, the ability to outfit your sand walker with siege weapons like ballistas, and more. The game is available now for $30.
