Song of Iron is a game we can’t wait to play. So much so, that it even made our 20 most anticipated Xbox games of 2021 list earlier this year. At today’s ID@Xbox Indie Showcase, fans were treated to a brand new gameplay trailer filled with new enemies, diverse environments, and awesome Viking magic. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting an updated look at Song of Iron, there’s certainly a great deal to be excited about from the latest footage.

Song of Iron is a side-scrolling action-adventure game where players take control of a powerful Viking warrior. Use your strength and magical abilities to solve clever puzzles and defeat towering enemies. Fans of Limbo and classic side-scrolling beat-em-ups will absolutely find something to enjoy. Created by solo-developer Joe Winter, who previously worked as an animator for franchises like Halo, Song of Iron is genuinely shaping up to be one of the coolest indie releases of the year.
When does Song of Iron release?

While we don’t have an official release date for Song of Iron yet, we do know that this Viking-centric adventure will be coming exclusively to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2021. In a recent interview we conducted with Joe Winter, it sounds like summer is likely the current target, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available. WSJ: Microsoft and Discord could agree on acquisition deal next month
A new report from Wall Street Journal is claiming that Microsoft is in exclusive talks to acquire Discord for $10 billion, and that a deal could be agreed as soon as next month. This news comes just days after it was revealed that Discord was looking to sell, and that Microsoft was a potential buyer alongside Epic Games and others.
