Xbox is quickly becoming a more enticing place to play JRPGs, a huge genre of popular video games, with new releases like Scarlet Nexus making waves on the consoles. The next big JRPG release is Tales of Arise, the latest game in the massive “Tales of” franchise, and excited fans now have a new developer message to watch. The second dev diary for Tales of Arise shares some of the updates for the game’s battle systems, as well as improvements being made to character animations and expressions.
Tales of Arise seeks to be the biggest, most detailed, most engaging, and most personal “Tales of” game yet, and our early Tales of Arise preview backs these promises up. Our own Jez Corden had this to say: “Tales of Arise is a beautiful, action-packed, and somewhat mysterious game that I find riding high on my list of most anticipated games after my crash course demonstration last week.”
Tales of Arise officially arrives on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, and PS4 on September 10, 2021. You can preorder the game right now, with three editions from which to choose. With all the information we have on Tales of Arise and our own hands-on preview, it’s safe to say Tales of Arise stands a great chance of making it onto our list of best Xbox JRPGs.
