Leaked Galaxy Z Fold 4 specs reveal a 50MP main camera and 25W slow charging

Thought to be scheduled for launch sometime during August, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 looks set to continue Samsung’s dominance in the foldable segment with the likes of Google reportedly delaying the Pixel Note until 2023. Leaks on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 are on the rise, and today we’ve got details on its hardware which reveal the presence of a 50MP main rear camera and unfortunately, slow 25W charging.

According to the well-known leaker, Ice Universe, Samsung’s Z Galaxy 4 will sport the following specifications:

    • Internal Display: 7.6-Inch QXGA+ AMOLED, 120Hz
    • Cover Display: 6.2-Inch HD+ AMOLED, 120Hz
    • Processor: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
    • Memory: 12GB RAM
    • Storage: 256/512GB
    • Rear Cam: 50MP Main + 12MP Ultra-Wide + 10MP Telephoto (3x)
    • Inner Cam: 4MP 2.0μm Under-Display-Camera
    • Outer Cam: 10MP
    • Software: Android 12, OneUI 4.1.1
    • Battery: 4400mAh
    • Charging Speed: 25W

On the face of it, the specifications line up with what you’d expect to see from Samsung’s next foldable flagship, including being powered by Qualcomm’s newest chipset, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which launched earlier this month. While the cameras aren’t what you’d find on a true flagship smartphone they do fit with what Samsung has given the Galaxy Z Fold range previously.

In my opinion, the presence of 25W charging, combined with the rather average 4.400mAh battery, will be the main shortcoming of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. With even mid-range phones such as the OnePlus Nord 2T launching with super-quick 80W fast charging, Samsung is stuck in the past by offering just 25W on its foldable devices.

Something that wasn’t mentioned in the leak was the S Pen which Samsung was previously rumored to be adding to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. I guess we’ll need to wait and see if the upcoming foldable will feature a built-in stylus or not. If it does, it would go some way to explain the presence of the 4,400mAh battery.

My nitpicking aside, what are your thoughts on the leaked specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 4? What would you have liked Samsung to add to the mix?
