Sony is holding a launch event tomorrow but as you might have already guessed from the headline, images of its successor to the Xperia Pro from 2020 have already been leaked. These images point to the Xperia Pro-1 featuring a massive 1-inch camera sensor as one of its trio of rear cameras.

Thanks to the diligent work of @nokishita the ‘Big Soap’ via Weibo, we have renders showing the front, back, and sides of the Xperia Pro-1 as well as the user-case scenarios for the handset. The 1-inch sensor isn’t exactly small, it protrudes quite a bit from the rear panel and sports a 24mm wide-angle gamut. With dual aperture modes (F/2.0 and F/4.0), the Xperia Pro-1 should be able to adapt to all kinds of lighting conditions. Sony has also chucked in “enhanced optical image stabilization” and “Videography Pro” features that will deal with shaky images and offer more options for those shooting video content.

Sony has partnered up with Zeiss to tune the optics, and as with the original Xperia Pro, the Pro-1 will be aimed at content makers, vloggers, and professionals, and will be compatible with the Sony Shooting Grip With Wireless Remote Commander (GP-VPT2BT).

One thing you can be sure of is that the Xperia Pro-1 will follow its successor in featuring a hefty price tag, likely in excess of $2,500.
