Quite a few of our favorite smartphone manufacturers have a finger knuckle-deep in the pie of smartwatches. Obviously, Samsung is the most notable example, but you’d be amiss if you didn’t mention Google’s Pixel Watch lineup.
At the moment, the Pixel Watch is only two generations deep, but it is getting set for a third generation this year; set to release alongside the Google Pixel 9 family in about a week. One thing that makes it exciting, confirmed through a leaked promo video in Spanish, is that this will be the first Google Pixel Watch with a second size option: 45mm.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 is coming soon, and that’s very soon. The launch of the Google Pixel 9 series is on August 13th and the new Pixel Watch is going to be unveiled to the world on the same day, so we’re only going to need to wait just over a week before we get to see it arrives. As is usual fashion though, leaks have beaten the manufacturer to the punch and we know a lot about the upcoming smartwatch already.
First off, if you’re familiar with the Google Pixel Watch models that have been released thus far, you’ll know that the first and second generations only came in a single 41mm size. For a lot of people, that’s small, especially as most other smartwatch makers offer at least two sizes (and if they offer just one, it tends to be on the bigger side). However, this year, things will change, as a second model, measuring at 45mm, has been confirmed.
Of course, you can expect the same functionality regardless of the size that you get. However, the 45mm model will very likely come with a bigger battery. Naturally, the screen will be bigger, but based on the images from the promo video, it looks like the bigger model will have slightly smaller bezels (though the 41mm unit also looks to have slimmed down from last year).
The 41mm model is expected to retail at $349 while the bigger model will cost you $50 more at $399.

Of course, the addition of a new model isn’t the only thing of note, as the promo video provides a few more details on what we can expect from the Pixel Watch 3. Unfortunately, it is in Spanish, which I don’t speak, but Android Headlines, who brought us this leak in the first place, in collaboration with OnLeaks, has explained everything.
First off, likely with the power of Gemini, your Pixel Watch 3 will be able to provide real-time advice during your runs, which should supposedly help you hit better times and performance. The Morning Brief feature will also serve you up with info to get you ready at the start of the day. There’s also a Cardio Load feature incoming, though I’m not too sure what that will do.
