Ever since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen trade shows and product launch events canceled and where possible, replaced by virtual events with online attendance via video conferencing tools such as Zoom. With the availability and take-up of vaccines on the increase, there’s increased optimism about the feasibility of in-person attendance – so much so that the CTA has confirmed that the CES 2022 conference will return as a physical event.

The CTA (Consumer Technology Association) has stated that an in-person CES conference will be held in Las Vegas from 5-8 January 2022, with media days held on 3-4 January. For those that aren’t able to travel, the whole CES 2022 event will be made available in a digital format.

“We’re thrilled to return to Las Vegas – home to CES for more than 40 years – and look forward to seeing many new and returning faces,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Hundreds of executives have told us how much they need CES to meet new and existing customers, find partners, reach media and discover innovation.”

The CTA has stated that it will follow the necessary guidelines suggested by the CDC regarding the coronavirus to ensure the safety of the attendees. CES 2022 is the latest trade show to announce plans to hold in-person attendance after the GMSA announced that the MWC 2021 event from June 28 to July 1st would allow physical attendance, although many think that it’s too soon.
