mac: Apple’s plan for Mac launches in 2023: Everything we know so far

Mac fans were a little disappointed with last year’s Apple Mac line-up, however, the game has changed as Apple plans to launch more Macs this year. Therefore, if you were planning to upgrade to Mac, or upgrade your Mac – this comes as a good news. Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to come up with this year’s line-up anytime sooner with the Spring event. Here’s everything we know so far about the Apple Mac’s line-up for 2023.

Apple silicon Mac Pro

While almost every Mac so far came up with an Apple silicon chip, Mac Pro missed this transition. As per the reports, Cupertino-based tech giant needed more time for perfection to meet the demands of Pro users – the time has come now and Apple is almost ready to launch its flagship computing workhorse.

14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro

Apple is known to release new MacBook Pros every fall, but this didn’t happen in 2022, for the first time since 2000. Hence, it’s a long time due from Apple’s side.

As a result, new MacBook Pros are on the cards – though we won’t see any ultimate updates. Both the models, 14-inch and 16-inch, are likely to come with new chips: M2 Pro and M2 Max.

15-inch MacBook Air

Apple’s MacBook Air is known for their compact-size and brilliant performance, which comes at a budget. However, if rumors are to be believed, Apple is likely to be working on a 15-inch device. It would be Apple’s second transition since 2016 when the company ditched 11-inch Airs for a compact 13-inch.

New Mac mini

Apart from the Mac Pro, the only other Mac with an Intel CPU is the Mac mini. While this computer does offer Apple silicon versions, it still uses last-generation M1 chips. All of this means that the Mac mini line is ripe for an upgrade.

This upgrade is expected at Apple’s spring event, where the Mac mini will receive M2 chips and maybe an M2 Pro option. That means the Intel Mac mini, a zombie computer powered by an out-of-date processor, will be phased out.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also claimed that the device is likely to sport an updated design along with more ports. However, as per Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Mac mini will probably use the same design.

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple began the year with the launch of the iPhone Se 3rd Gen. Apple later went on to launch new MacBook Air with an M2 chip and MagSafe charging, and the highly-anticipated iPhone 14 series.

iMac Pro

There have been reports that Apple is working on a successor to the iMac Pro since it was discontinued in 2021. Now, it appears that the company is almost ready to unveil the device to the world, with a release date in the latter parts of 2023.

24-inch Mac

The 24-inch iMac is poised for an update, just as the iMac Pro may be making a reappearance. The present model was released in the spring of 2021, and a new version is due in around two years.

We should expect the new iMac, like the iMac Pro, to be loaded with M3-generation CPUs, however, only the M3 and nothing more advanced, like the M3 Pro.
