Apple’s newest beta cycle has finally arrived. Today the company has released macOS Sequoia 15.4 beta 1 alongside a variety of other updates for developers.
First macOS 15.4 beta brings potential for a lot of new features
macOS 15.3 shipped widely to all users late last month, bringing Genmoji to the Mac plus some smaller AI enhancements.
And now after a few weeks of waiting, Apple has released the first macOS 15.4 beta version to developers, offering a sneak peek into the new features coming up next.
To download macOS 15.4 beta 1, you need to have developer beta updates turned on inside the System Settings app under the Software Update section.
We don’t yet know exactly what new features this first macOS 15.4 beta will bring.
However, here are some features generally expected to arrive in this release:
- Mail app redesign and inbox categorization (which first hit iPhone in iOS 18.2)
- New supported languages for Apple Intelligence beyond English
- Priority notifications, an AI feature that makes the most important notifications stand out
- Fresh batch of built-in emoji
- Possibly Siri upgrades, but those may have been pushed to 15.5 instead
We’ll keep you posted on any and all changes discovered in today’s beta 1 release.
