Apple kicked off a new beta cycle back in early April with macOS Sequoia 15.5 developer beta 1. Though there’s still no public beta in sight, the company just released beta 2 for developers.
macOS Sequoia 15.5 lacks noticeable changes so far
macOS Sequoia 15.5 is the next noteworthy update coming to the Mac.
It just started beta testing, but so far the new software offers little reason to get excited.
Although macOS 15.4 shipped publicly with a couple key iOS and iPadOS features missing—namely, Priority Notifications and recipes in the News app—unfortunately, macOS 15.5 beta 1 included neither feature.
Nor did beta 1 offer any noticeable changes at all.
Hopefully that will change with today’s beta, and we’ll get some new features to try out. There are likely still many betas ahead before macOS 15.5 ships to the public, so there’s plenty of time for Apple to make some noteworthy additions.

That said, we’re getting closer to June’s big unveiling of macOS 16 and its whole new design, so don’t be surprised if Apple has little more than bug fixes and under-the-hood enhancements in store for version 15.5.
