Marshall Launches Its First Pair of ANC Earbuds – Review Geek

Marshall just launched two new pairs of wireless earbuds, the Motif ANC and the stripped-down Minor III. Both earbuds are … uh, inspired by AirPods and AirPods Pro, sporting a near-identical design and feature-set.

The new Motif ANC are the most notable addition of Marshall’s lineup. As the name suggests, they support ANC and Transparency modes with adjustable intensity. An IPX5 water-resistance rating protects the earbuds from sweat or splashes, while wireless charging support saves you the trouble of digging around for a USB-C cable.

Like the AirPods Pro, the Motif ANC doesn’t have the most amazing battery life. The buds last for 4.5 hours with ANC enabled and can pull an extra 20 hours of playtime from the charging case. That’s enough to get you through a trip to the gym, but you may find yourself charging the Motif ANC more often than you’d like. (On the plus side, the charging case is quite small.)

Marshall’s Minor III earbuds are a stripped-down version of the Motif ANC. They lack any fancy features and instead focus on sound quality. Thankfully, the Minor III earbuds support wireless charging and have an IPX4 sweat-resistance rating.

And unsurprisingly, the Minor III earbuds sport a battery life that’s comparable to Apple’s entry-level AirPods. You get 5 hours of playtime from the earbuds and an extra 20 hours with the charging case.

The Marshall Motif ANC and Marshall Minor III earbuds cost $200 and $130, respectively. Both are available to order, though the Motif ANC buds won’t ship until September 30th. Keep in mind that Marshall also sells a set of stemless Mode II earbuds for $180, though they don’t support ANC or Transparency modes.
