Meet HMD Global’s Nokia G50 with 5G, a big 6.8-inch display, and a $299 price tag

    HMD Global’s latest smartphone is the Nokia G50 which was announced earlier today and is already available to pre-order in the US for $299. For that, you’ll get a phone running Android 11 out of the box with 3 years of monthly security updates and 2 years of OS upgrades. On the hardware side, the Nokia G50 boasts a big 6.82-inch HD+ display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G chipset.

    Accompanying the SD480 processor is 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, along with a big 5,000mAh battery that has 18W quick-charging. A 48MP main sensor, 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor make up the rear camera setup with an 8MP front-facing camera located in the teardrop notch on the top of the display. The G50 cameras support Super Night Selfie mode as well as Selfie Video Stabilization, with AI helping to capture fine details on still imagery.

    Bluetooth 5.0 is also present, as is a 3.5mm audio jack, NFC connectivity, WiFi 6, FM Radio, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is integrated into the power button.

    The Nokia G50 is up for pre-order directly from the Nokia storefront in Ocean Blue and Midnight Sun colors, with orders shipping from October 4th.
