Meta Video Ad Lawsuit Must Proceed With Patent Under Review


A company accusing Meta Platforms Inc. of infringing a video ad patent secured a green light to keep pursuing its case Tuesday, when a Texas federal judge said that an administrative tribunal’s review of the underlying patent isn’t enough to halt the case.

Meta must keep facing VideoShare LLC’s claims that products like Facebook Watch and Instagram violate US Patent No. 10,362,341, which covers “systems and methods for sharing video with advertisements over a network,” Judge Alan Albright ruled.
