After posting a 1-0-1 record this past weekend and earning her first shutout of the season, first-year goaltender Michaela Hesová was named the ECAC Hockey Bitcoin Rookie of the Week.
This is the second weekly award Hesová has earned from the ECAC, her first being MAC Goaltending Goalie of the week on January 7.
Over the weekend, Hesová made 52 total saves, posting a .972 save percentage while only allowing one goal.
In Friday’s 2-1 victory over Union, Hesová made 26 saves on 27 shots, half of which came in the final frame.
Against the Engineers on Saturday, she earned her first shutout of the season, stopping all 26 shots she faced including shutting the door in overtime and the shootout, stopping all three Engineer attempts.
Hesová and the Big Green will return to action this weekend, welcoming nationally ranked Cornell and Colgate to Thompson Arena, looking to remain undefeated in their last six games.
