Microsoft’s latest app lets you transcribe in-person conversations

The Microsoft Garage has rolled out yet another interesting app. The app is called Group Transcribe, and it allows you to transcribe in-person conversations. The app also supports translation for 37 spoken languages, allowing you to read the transcripts of conversations in your language of choice.

The app uses a multi-device approach. To get the best experience, each person should use their own device and have it within arm’s reach.

The app can identify who said what, allowing you to easily keep track of a conversation.

Here are some of the key features of the app, as described in a Microsoft Garage blog post:

Group Transcribe provides high-quality, real-time transcription and translation.

    • Start a conversation from your phone and easily invite others to join*
    • Stay focused without taking notes or pushing-to-talk
    • Follow along with the conversation in real-time in your preferred language
    • Browse and view previous transcripts on your device
    • Easily share transcripts with others
    • Supports languages in 80+ locales

Please note: each user will need to use their own phone within arm’s reach for the highest quality experience.

Group Transcribe is only available for iPhones at this time, so you’ll have to wait to try it out on any other device or platform. The Microsoft Garage Twitter account says that Android development is underway.
