Microsoft’s Xbox Mobile Store To Launch Imminently

Microsoft’s Xbox is getting ready to launch its own app store for mobile devices. The store will be available on Android and iOS, just like the Google Play and Apple App stores. It should start with Xbox games and might add other companies’ games later.

After a challenging legal battle to acquire Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s progress toward launching its own mobile app store indicates a major step forward in their strategy. It could provide more options for us gamers and might impact the mobile gaming market. They planned to launch it in July 2024, so we might hear more about it very soon.

Xbox Mobile Store Nears Launch with new web page under construction

Earlier in May 2024, Xbox President Sarah Bond had told Bloomberg Live on X that the Xbox Mobile Store would launch in July 2024. Well, it’s the end of the month and that doesn’t seem like it’s happening yet. But we’ve spotted the store’s webpage showing the “Coming Soon” and a message for Xbox Insiders that access will be available soon.

Thank you for participating in the Xbox Insiders program. As part of our testing process, you have been placed in a holdback group and currently do not have access to this feature. Your support is invaluable to us, and we ask for your patience as we prepare for the public release. Stay connected with Xbox for further updates.

Sarah added that the company will bring their own first-party portfolio to the store, showcasing games like Candy Crush and Minecraft. It’s all thanks to Xbox buying King (Candy Crush) and Mojang (Minecraft) game companies in recent years. Eventually, Microsoft will extend the capabilities to include more games to partnering companies so that they can access a cross-platform mobile experience. For now, it all starts on the web to allow people from countries worldwide to reach it.

Candy Crush and Minecraft bring endless entertainment

If you haven’t played Candy Crush Saga before, it’s a popular puzzle game where you match candies to advance through thousands of levels, solve puzzles with strategic moves, and enjoy vibrant candy cascades and combos. You can also use boosters to overcome challenging puzzles, clear chocolate, and collect candy across numerous levels.

Meanwhile, Minecraft allows players to build and explore virtual worlds made up of blocks. You’ll have unlimited resources to build and create, as well as gather resources, craft items, and fend off monsters. The game’s open-ended nature encourages creativity and problem-solving, making it popular across all age groups.

In the meantime, kill time with Candy Crush Saga and Minecraft, or explore other games and see what makes them so engaging. You’ll find them on the Google Play Store for Android devices, and the Apple App Store for iOS.
