Minecraft Dungeons is now a full-fledged and wonderfully featured action-RPG set in the ever-growing Minecraft universe. However, the game is far from finished, with a few more expansions already confirmed to be heading to the co-op game in the future. Today, Mojang Studios has announced the next Minecraft Dungeons DLC, Hidden Depths, coming to the game through the Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass. As originally teased at Minecraft Live, the next Minecraft Dungeons DLC is heading to… the oceans!

Hidden Depths is taking Minecraft Dungeons underwater, opening up a whole new universe of potential environments, puzzles, and baddies for the player to discover and conquer. Players familiar with vanilla Minecraft will likely encounter returning foes like drowned and guardians, as well as all-knew hostile mobs to defeat. Mojang Studios isn’t sharing much else at this time, but we’ll likely learn more and more as we get closer to release.

Alongside the Hidden Depths DLC expansion (which will be available through the Season Pass or as a separate purchase), Mojang Studios is also continuing its previous habit of releasing a free update to all players simultaneously. This time around, it seems the free update will once again include new enchantments and levels. There’s also a brand-new feature known as “Raid Captains,” which are apparently super-challenging enemies that players can find scattered throughout the Minecraft Dungeons world and defeat for powerful loot.

The Hidden Depths DLC for Minecraft Dungeons releases for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, PS4, and Switch on May 26, 2021. In case you’re not all caught up in Minecraft Dungeons, the last DLC expansion was Flames of the Nether, an absolutely massive release that fixed many of the last lingering issues players had with Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft Dungeons also recently added official cross-save support, meaning you can now carry your progression and characters across devices without losing your valuable gear and time.

Because of the ongoing support and love Mojang Studios has given to Minecraft Dungeons, the game has quickly evolved to become one of the best games on Xbox. Because it’s also included on Xbox Game Pass, this also makes Minecraft Dungeons one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass.

Minecraft Dungeons has a base version, but the edition most players should be considering when purchasing Minecraft Dungeons is the Hero Edition. Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition includes a ton of content at a still-great price, and is only getting better with time as updates are released. Players can decide if they want to take it farther with more expansions.
