More Battlefield 6 screenshots leak, corroborating reboot reports

More images related to the upcoming Battlefield 6 reveal have begun circulating online, shedding further light on the project from Electronic Arts. The next title in the Battlefield series, colloquially dubbed Battlefield 6, has suffered several reputable leaks ahead of its scheduled June reveal event. The latest confirms previous reports of a soft reboot for the mainline series, coupled with screenshots showcasing its near-future setting.

The next Battlefield, currently on track to launch on consoles and PC later in 2021, aims to deliver a “next-gen vision” for the military shooter, according to publisher Electronic Arts. Past reports suggested a “soft reboot,” dropping the subtitle from past Battlefield entries. The latest images, shared via the Discord server for reputable leakster Tom Henderson, further corroborate those earlier reports. The clearest images come via Twitter user @Alaricdhuman, posting edited versions of the leaks, providing the clearest look yet.

The low-quality images provide alleged blurred stills from the upcoming Battlefield reveal trailer, aligning with previously shared themes and visuals. A Boston Dynamics-style robot dog and rocket launch feature, both previously reported, adding further credibility to a near-future setting. One accompanying image seen also displays Battlefield 6’s formal title — backing previous reports of a reboot simply branded “BATTLEFIELD.”

The latest images add further credibility to past leaks, with Battlefield 6 set to deliver a sizeable shakeup for the franchise. Sizeable additions have been teased, with 128-player multiplayer matches, larger maps, and increased destruction all on the docket for June. We also know the next Battlefield, while targeting the latest Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC hardware will also launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

Electronic Arts is yet to announce a formal date for its planned June reveal, where it’s expected to debut its initial reveal trailer, providing the first official details on the title. New gameplay is also likely to feature at the company’s annual EA Play Live event this July.
