Today, MSI gave interested consumers a closer look at its new Summit Series laptops. Both have been known about for some time, since the Summit E13 Flip Evo won a “Best of CES 2021” award and the Summit E16 Flip was an honoree of the “CES Innovation Awards” back in January 2021.
The highlight of these laptops is their 16:10 aspect ratios which afford 10% more visible space on the screen. This will allow for more content and reduce the need for scrolling, which MSI touts as a feature that “further enhances productivity.”
Both the E13 Flip Evo an E16 Flip are 2-in-1s, meaning they can transform from laptops to tablets and back again. But aspect ratios and transformative hardware aren’t all MSI is promising with the Summit Series laptops. The company is also touting the devices’ durability.
With “aluminum-extruded unique technology,” MSI claims the E13 Flip Evo will be highly durable and have hinges capable of enduring extensive use over the course of years, though MSI stops short of specifying how many years.
As for hardware specs, the Summit E13 Flip Evo will support up to an 11th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 32GB of RAM. It will feature a 13.4″ FHD+ touchscreen display, fingerprint reader, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, and a 30fps, 720p webcam. Its dimensions are 300.2(W) x 222.25(D) x 14.9(H) millimeters.
The technical specs of the Summit E16 Flip have not been disclosed in nearly as much detail. What we know is that it will feature Nvidia RTX graphics, “dynamic cooler boost” thermal design, and four microphones for “high-quality conferences calls.”
The price and release date of the E16 Flip is unknown. The E13 Flip Evo, on the other hand, is $1,599 and available now.
