My Favorite Pokémon Show Is Free on YouTube Right Now

To celebrate Pokémon Day, The Pokémon Company has made its charming stop-motion animation, Pokémon Concierge, available to stream for free on YouTube.

This will only be the case until March 9, at which point, Pokémon Concierge will leave YouTube and return to its usual home on Netflix as a Netflix-exclusive series. If you’re not a Netflix subscriber, though, I strongly recommend you take this opportunity to carve an hour out of your day and take a trip to the Pokémon Resort while you can.

Take a Relaxing Trip to a Stop-Motion Pokémon Resort

Pokémon Concierge introduces us to Haru as she arrives at the luxurious Pokémon Resort for the first day of her new job as a concierge. The resort is frequented by all kinds of adorable Pokémon, who come here for some much-needed downtime, presumably recuperating from their latest battles. With the help of her new colleagues, Haru needs to embrace the easy-going lifestyle of the resort, for the benefit of the Pokémon clientele and herself.

The show uses stop-motion animation, with cutesy felted models for most of the Pokémon. There’s not a battle in sight and the island resort is all blue skies, white sand, and good vibes.

The show is made up of just four episodes, each about 15 minutes, meaning you can watch the whole thing in around an hour. I found it such a refreshing show; I felt like I’d just returned from a trip to the Pokémon Resort myself. There’s also a second season in production.

How to Watch Pokémon Concierge on YouTube

If I’ve sold you on the show, all four episodes are available to stream for free on YouTube until March 9. What’s more, it’s all completely ad free—a rarity for YouTube these days. I’ve embedded episode one above, but you can also go straight to a playlist of all Pokémon Concierge episodes.

If you’re reading this after March 9, you can still watch Pokémon Concierge on Netflix, though you’ll need to have an active Netflix subscription (or a friend willing to share a password) to do so.

What Else to Expect From Pokémon Day

Pokémon Concierge took a trip to YouTube to celebrate Pokémon Day, which takes place on February 27 each year to celebrate the date Pokémon was first introduced back in 1996. We’re also getting a Pokémon Presents event on the day itself, at 6AM PST. We’ll get all the latest news about upcoming Pokémon games, apps, and updates from that.

We’re likely to see some giveaways or in-game events for mobile games like Pokémon Go in the lead up to the event, but the big draw is more information on Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This is the follow-up to 2022’s hugely popular Pokémon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch, which started the “Legends” spin-offs for the main franchise.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you choose when to take on battles and when to run. Mixing stealth gameplay and open zones, Arceus shakes up the Pokémon formula for the better.

We’ve only seen an announcement trailer for Z-A so far, which hasn’t told us much except that the game centers around an urban redevelopment program in the city of Lumiose. Fingers crossed we’ll get a glimpse of some gameplay during the event.
