MymonX is the first smartwatch from AI company AITIS and is an impressive debut watch
Smartwatches are increasingly becoming an essential device to help consumers monitor their health and fitness.
Besides assisting with health, these digital companions also act as an extension to your smartphones, granting access to calls, music and more.
Lots of tech companies have invested in smartwatches, with big names such as Samsung, Huawei and Apple offering a diverse range to pick from.
Looking to join this esteemed list of household names is AI technology company AITIS which has just released its new smartwatch the MymonX.
AITIS says the MymonX is the ultimate AI health monitoring solution that combines a smart wearable and an app to stay on top of health and well-being.
The MymonX sports a sleek design, featuring an aesthetic that resembles a classic watch. Its IPS TFT screen is protected by a stainless steel case that not only looks stylish but also feels really premium.
I was really impressed with just how durable and sturdy the watch feels compared to others on the market.
The straps are made from soft leather that will bend and cater to different wrist sizes. It looks very slick and can be swapped for a different colour, allowing consumers to customise the style of their watch.
The MymonX has a wonderful IPS TFT 1.3 touchscreen display and even though it does not come built with an AMOLED screen like a lot of its competitors, I was thoroughly impressed with the vibrant image quality.
Its 240*240 resolution glistens with rich colours and sharp details. The touch controls work a charm being very responsive with minimal lag.
For a first smartwatch, I was thoroughly impressed with AITIS’s craftsmanship, who have managed to design a slick watch that looks and feels extremely premium.
Even though it weighs 200g, which is slightly heavier than most smartwatches, it was always pleasant to wear and was never irritant during long periods of usage.
The MymonX comes with an IP68 waterproof rating, which means it’s resistant to water and can be used during swimming or diving to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes.
This just means that it’s a perfect companion for all kinds of workouts and outdoor adventures.
I found that it worked at full capacity regardless of where I used it, which was great especially as it has been raining a lot while reviewing it.
The MymonX has a plethora of different functions that work in tandem with the watch’s companion app.
But the watch’s main selling point is its noninvasive glucose measuring function, which delivers results in the standard mmol/L.
AITIS states that MymonX’s measurements are within the ISO 15197 guidelines and all their values are within Zone A and B using the Clarke Error Grid Analysis, which is widely used to evaluate the accuracy of blood glucose monitor.
The watch makes it very easy to check your glucose levels which can also be measured in more detail via the app.
The watch’s ECG measures the electrical activity within your heart and takes the reading. AITIS gives very succinct instructions to ensure you get the most accurate reading possible.
I tested the ECG measurements during several different scenarios to see how varied the reading would be and I found that they were very consistent when I stayed in a similar location and hadn’t eaten.
The readings did fluctuate after I ate, which is only natural. I don’t get my glucose levels checked regularly at all but given the consistency of the watch’s reading, it should be fair to say that it gives a somewhat accurate depiction of your actual glucose level, or close enough.
The device comes with loads of other fitness apps that you would expect to see on a smartwatch.
It includes a live tracker for the obvious things you would link with everyday health including heart rate, blood oxygen, calories, steps, active minutes and sleep.
Comparing it to other smartwatches I’ve used I found the readings to be very similar, meaning that the MymonX can compete very well with its competitors in this department.
The user interface is very straightforward so that even newcomers can make use of all its great functions.
I did feel that it could have included a few more fitness exercises as you can get hundreds included on other smartwatches, but this isn’t a deal breaker as the core ones like running, and cycling are covered with a few extras like basketball and ping pong for good measure.
Other than the health functions the MymonX will also let you control your music app, take pictures and more.
They all work pretty well, but the camera function only works with the companion app rather than linking up my mobile’s built-in camera app.
The companion app itself grants you further authority over your watch, being able to customise the intervals of all the information that is taken and even activate a heart rate warning.
The app also includes a find my watch feature and a marketplace to download new face dials.
This is all great and AITIS has included an extra feature that comes with their £9.99 subscription. This subscription will grant you access to a personalised doctor-reviewed health report, that will highlight any changes to vital trends.
This is a fantastic addition that reinforces the accuracy of the watch’s readings and offers a service that you won’t find anywhere else on the market.
This is definitely a game changer for people who are busy or just can’t make it to the doctor on a regular basis.
But that being said, I do think that £9.99 is a tad more expensive than I would pay, as you can still go to your doctor and get regular readings from your local for free or keep track of the watch’s reading.
The watch runs on a 200mAh Polymeter Lithium Battery which will last between seven to fifteen days from a three-hour charge. This is fantastic and I was able to use the watch without worrying about it dying.

AITIS’s first smartwatch is a great first device that comes with a diverse range of apps and functions that allow it to compete with some of the bigger names.
The watch’s clever ECG measurement function is simply superb and a great new function that I haven’t seen included in any other smartwatch, especially for £249.
