Nanoleaf is expanding its lines series of modular backlit bars. While you had plenty of design options with the company’s original lines series, which clipped together at 60 degree angles, you might have been frustrated by your inability to make a square. Well, now you can.
The company says Lines Squared is ideal for framing doors and windows, along with any other square or rectangle-shaped objects in your home. It also opens up new design possibilities when using Lines as a standalone decoration. Over 16 million RGBW color options are also available, and can be used in pre-programed patterns called “scenes.”
It has been confirmed that Lines Squared works with older Lines. So you can use it to expand on your existing lighting setup, or just mix and match expansion packs if you want to go crazy with your design choices.
If you decide to add to an existing design, and that design becomes a crazy, abstract, mess it still shouldn’t be an issue. Nanoleaf’s “Layout Detect” technology is designed to detect the shape of whatever it is you’ve assembled and ensure the lighting “scenes” play out across your monstrosity as intended.
Lines and Lines squared also work as thread routers. Which means they can help keep your thread-enabled smart devices working well with your smart home, in addition to lighting up sections of your house.
Nanoleaf Lines Squared are available for pre-order from today. The Lines Squared Smarter Kit is priced at $99.99US/$129.99CA while three-piece Expansion Packs are available for $69.99US/$99.99CA. You can see our review of Nanoleaf’s Lines Squared lights here.
