NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department is urging the public to remain vigilant against scams.
MNPD reports a spoofing scam is making its rounds in Nashville.
The scam includes a suspect posing as MNPD personnel asking for a monetary payment to satisfy a warrant, missed court date or jury duty. The payment methods involve either Bitcoin or gift cards.
MNPD is urging the public to not engage with these callers and to report them immediately.
“No member of the MNPD will ever call to ask you for immediate monetary payment under any circumstance.”
