Netflix Announces Live Event Teasing Stranger Things, Wednesday, and More

Netflix has officially announced Tudum 2025, the latest of its annual events that shares details on some of the streamer’s upcoming projects.

Tudum broadcasts on May 31, and for the first time ever you can watch the live stream on Netflix.

What Is Tudum 2025?

As you can see in the YouTube trailer above, Tudum 2025 promises a celebration of “the biggest fandoms in the world”. That means we’ll see more of upcoming movies and shows like Happy Gilmore 2, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, One Piece, Stranger Things, Wednesday, Emily in Paris, and more.

The show will apparently be packed with huge stars, so expect actors from some of those franchises to make an appearance, like Adam Sandler, Daniel Craig, and Jenna Ortega, though no names are confirmed, nor whether they will actually appear live or via pre-recorded videos.

It will also have “dynamic live performances”, so perhaps we can expect instrumentals of some show theme tunes, a reenactment of the iconic Wednesday dance, and a script reading of the final Stranger Things episode. Some of those may be more likely than others.

Tudum gets its name from the sound that greets you at the beginning of every Netflix Original.

Tudum 2025 will also have exclusive reveals that won’t be announced beforehand, but here’s a list of everything confirmed to appear so far:

  • America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
  • Emily in Paris
  • Frankenstein
  • Happy Gilmore 2
  • Love Is Blind
  • One Piece
  • Outer Banks
  • Squid Game
  • Stranger Things
  • The Life List
  • The Rip
  • Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
  • Wednesday
  • WWE

How to Watch Tudum 2025

In previous years, Tudum has streamed on YouTube, but now the event will live stream directly on Netflix. It makes sense, considering Netflix has made a big push into live content recently, with the likes WWE Raw and Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.

Every live event, including Tudum 2025, is included in all Netflix plans, even if you’re on one supported by adverts.

The show begins on May 31 at 5pm PT/8pm ET and will be held at the Kia Forum in California. You can even attend in person, if you buy a ticket on Ticketmaster. Tickets will be released on May 9, though you may feel it’s easier—and cheaper—to simply watch the event from the comfort of your couch.

There’s more to Netflix than meets the eye.

Tudum has been running since 2020, ordinarily held in São Paulo, Brazil, apart from a couple that were online-only due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so this also marks the first time the event has been hosted in the US.

In 2023, Netflix claims the event had 35,000 in-person attendees and over 78 million views across the company’s social channels.

Netflix is home to some fantastic exclusive shows and movies, so I’m excited to find out what the streamer has in store for the coming year, and hopefully get a closer look at some of the Netflix shows I’m looking forward to.
