Title: Director of Hard Cider Sales
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Territory Sales Managers, Brand Ambassadors
Position Purpose/Summary: Develops and executes specific market-based sales plan with TSM’s and distributors across the brand’s hard cider geographic footprint.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understands and keeps abreast of competitive landscape in hard cider, hard seltzer, and craft beer categories
- Collaborates with CEO to develop annual marketing plans for the hard cider business, including annual volume targets and sales & marketing budgets. Builds an understanding of the hard cider business financials and variables.
- Creates annual and quarterly sales plans, including key chain on- and off-premise accounts, in partnership with distributor brand managers.
- Implements sales plans with and through TSM’s, in conjunction with distributor partners; directly responsible for defined chain account management and contact.
- Develops plan, schedule, and training for Brand Ambassadors for event marketing.
- Spends approximately one day per week selling to and building relationships with on- and off-premise accounts in each distributor’s market area.
- Hires, directs, and evaluates Territory Sales Managers; creates and implements a skills/capabilities development plan for each TSM.
- Researches distributors, competitive dynamics, and marketplace structure when asked to evaluate new potential markets for the brand.
Ideal candidates will possess the following capabilities and experience:
- 7+ years craft beer/cider sales experience in the Northeast USA with history of sales goal achievement and successful sales team development.
- Based in eastern or central Massachusetts
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed and -motivated
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
- Can demonstrate a track record of sales achievement, strong distributor relationships, and sales staff development
- Proficiency with MS Office suite; VIP experience mandatory.
- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
