Alongside the new iPad Air, Apple has launched an updated Magic Keyboard which adds function keys, and costs $30 less than before.

Following Tim Cook‘s teasing tweet about there being something in the air, Apple has launched a new iPad Air and brought it with it new versions of the Magic Keyboard to fit. For both the 11-inch iPad Air and 13-inch iPad Air, there is now a new Magic Keyboard that compared to the previous model features:

  • A larger trackpad
  • A 14-key function key row

These updates follow the ones made in May 2024 when Apple released new versions of the iPad Pro. In its review at the time, AppleInsider said that the differences made for a “massively improved experience” for users.

Both sizes of the Magic Keyboard now cost $30 less than their predecessors. That makes the Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch iPad Air $269, while the one for the 13-inch iPad Air is now $319.
