Sunday is here and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is out with the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter, this week giving some further details about Apple’s rumored new high-end “Pro” Apple Watch, which is expected to be announced in the coming months alongside a next-generation Apple Watch SE and new Apple Watch Series 8.

According to Gurman, the new high-end “Pro” Apple Watch is expected to feature Apple’s first major Apple Watch redesign since the launch of the Apple Watch Series 4, with the reporter suggesting the display will be about 7% larger, and will have a more durable casing, aligning with reports that the iPhone maker’s “Pro” wearable will be toughened to withstand use in extreme sporting environments where the watch is likely to be knocked, bumped and dropped.

Gurman reportsthe  that new wearable will likely offer a longer battery life, offering multiple days on one charge via a new low-power mode and the body-temperature sensor. While Gurman doesn’t expect Apple to launch the new Apple Watch with flat sides as rumors have previously suggested, it is believed that the high-end “Pro” Apple Watch “will be an evolution of the current rectangular shape, and not circular.”

Earlier this month, Gurman said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if the new Apple Watch starts closer to $900 to $999, the starting price of an iPhone 13 Pro, because of the larger display, new sensors and higher-end materials.
