The innovative game developers at Tender Claws have teamed up with Netflix to release a Stranger Things VR game late next year. The two companies confirmed the news at Stranger Things Days 2022.

Get ready to explore a series of extraordinary mysteries, dive into the world of Stranger Things, and even take on Eleven herself. Yes, that’s because Tender Claws revealed that players would be able to play as the epic Season 4 villain Vecna, going as far as to say you’ll get to “enact revenge on Eleven and Hawkins.”

And while we don’t know too much about the official VR game yet, the company released a teaser trailer to help excite fans of the show. Even those who don’t watch it religiously, but love VR, are likely in for a great experience.

According to the press release, Tender Claws’ official Stranger Things VR game will let players “become an explorer of unknown realities as you form the hive mind and tame the void. Invade minds and conjure nightmares in your quest to enact revenge on Eleven and Hawkins. Stranger Things VR is a psychological horror/action game developed by Tender Claws and coming to major VR platforms in winter 2023.”

At one point, the trailer mentions being able to play “from the never-before-seen perspective of Vecna as he explores unknown realities,” which sounds pretty promising.

For those unaware, Tender Claws is the studio behind some impressive and one-of-a-kind VR games like Tempest, so we’re expecting big things for this upcoming Stranger Things title.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the game will be released until late 2023. That said, the announcement did mention “major VR platforms,” so we’re assuming PS VR2, Quest Pro, and maybe Meta’s Quest 3 will be here by then. We’ll have to wait and see.
