Nintendo has started a “Play On” campaign for the Nintendo Switch, which will go on until March 23, 2025. The campaign includes various activities, sales, and rewards.
My Nintendo Platinum Points will be given out over the next six weeks for playing specific Nintendo Switch games. Players can earn 30 Platinum Points for each game, which can be exchanged for different rewards. The first game highlighted for this is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with Nintendo Switch Sports featured during the week of February 17, 2025, and more games will be announced weekly.
There are several exciting in-game events coming up. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can order special Valentine’s Day items through Nook Shopping and receive a gift from Isabelle until February 14, 2025.
For Pokémon fans, shiny Pokémon like Meloetta and Manaphy can be obtained as Mystery Gifts in the Pokémon Home app by completing Pokédex entries in different Pokémon Switch games. This includes the paid DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield, as well as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Additionally, a Valentine’ s-themed 5-star Tera Raid Battle will feature Milcery in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet from February 14 to February 16, 2025.
Nintendo is starting Game Trials for Nintendo Switch Online members on February 24, 2025. These trials let players try out a full game for free for a limited time, and there’s also a discount on the game purchase available until March 8, 2025. Unfortunately, the game featured in the trial iscurrently a mystery, but Nintendo will reveal it on February 20, 2025.
One main feature is the discounts and sales that are exclusive to EU members. There are several discounts on several games like Just Dance 2025 Edition, Balatro, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Okami HD, and Sonic x Shadow Generations. This sale will last until February 23, 2025.
One really cool bonus for EU members is that Nintendo is giving up to £12 in Gold Points to those who buy or renew a 12-month subscription for Nintendo Switch Online with auto-renewal turned on. This offer is available until March 23, 2025.
It seems like this is a good way to get players back to Nintendo Switch before the Switch 2 releases. If this goes well, maybe US members could get similar discounts for games and subscriptions.
