NoiseFit Origin review: A fusion of great design and health-tracking abilities | Technology News

A smartwatch has become a daily essential. While I am one of those who still cherishes the good-old analog watches, I am not too averse to smartwatches. Perhaps, the most arresting use case for someone like me is the ability to track fitness metrics on the go. Recently, connected lifestyle brand Noise unveiled its latest smartwatch – the NoiseFit Origin. As someone who has worn and tested some smartwatches in the recent past, I was approached to review the new watch.

I spent close to a week with the NoiseFit Origin, exploring its features and understanding its capabilities. From design to performance, here is a review of my experience with the latest offering from Noise.

Firstly, the packaging was impressive. It feels plush and evokes a sense that it houses a premium device. To be honest, right from the unboxing, the NoiseFit Origin makes quite an impression. I feel it’s the unique craftsmanship and superior design that makes this stand out. When I say premium, I mean the one-piece chiselled stainless steel body with a brushed finish. This is the first smartwatch that made me forget the beauty of classic analogs for a brief moment, no comparisons here though. This is also because of the air of sophistication one can witness on the gears on the dial and crown.

The NoiseFit Origin comes with three strap options – magnetic clasp, leather, and silicon. The review unit I got was in the Jet Black shade with a silicon strap. For me, the AMOLED display with 600 nits of brightness was one of the most standout features of the smartwatch.

A user interface that shines

The superfluid user interface of the NoiseFit Origin is like the icing on cake. A great design and an even greater UI take the experience to the next level. The Origin comes with a revamped user interface known as Nebula UI. Screen movements are no longer mundane as the UI offers seamless transitions. The visual appeal is further elevated with the unique gradient finish of the UI. The improved UI, with its new icons and animations, gives the smartwatch a premium, urban look. Perhaps, this could be a strong distinguishing feature of the Origin.

The watch is powered by the En1 processor which offers a smooth browsing experience. The company claims that the improved UI comes with a 30 per cent improvement in scrolling ease when compared to other watches from Noise. During my use, each swipe and gesture felt fluid. Another interesting facet is the liner motor-controlled crown which is responsive and feels good to touch. The crown offers precise control and haptic feedback allowing an immersive user experience.

Stellar display

This is one of the most versatile displays I have ever seen on a smartwatch. The NoiseFit Origin comes with a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a pixel density of 466×466. I found the display to be crisp and rich in detail. Also, I could view it without any strain on the eye even during sunny afternoons. Another area that I found the watch to be efficient is with its health and fitness tracking capabilities. The NoiseFit Origin comes with advanced bioMetric sensors that offer accurate metrics for various health activities. It effortlessly tracks 24×7 heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen, and stress measurement. It also features a female cycle tracker.

For fitness enthusiasts, the watch is also capable of analysing a user’s fitness age, readiness for exercise, and training load providing comprehensive insights into overall well-being. Although I was impressed with the design and health-tracking features, I must say there are some limitations too. The company claims that the battery life is up to seven days, but one needs to note that this largely depends on usage patterns and activated features. When it comes to IP rating, the watch comes with 3ATM rating meaning it can withstand splashes and light rain, however, one should avoid wearing it during activities like swimming or showering.

The verdict

I found the NoiseFit Origin to be a well-rounded smartwatch that offers an easy experience. At Rs 6,499, this smartwatch comes with a great display and some amazing health and fitness tracking abilities. While it may not be the perfect smartwatch for everyone, it certainly holds its own in a crowded market, offering a blend of form and function in a wearable device.
