Notification from Apple I still owe money for my M2 Air Order

First time post in hopes my situation isn’t too out of the norm or someone can help make sense of it. I ordered a M2 Air (8CPU, 10GPU, 16GB, 1TB) with delivery expected Aug 1-8. Total price was $1855.54. I used $470 in apple gift cards and the remaining balance of $1385.54 was charged to my credit card. I check my order status daily through the Apple app. This morning my apple app said “YOUR ORDER IS ON HOLD DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PAYMENT.” I immediately contacted apple and spoke to a representative who stated I still owed $5.50. I asked how and why I still owed this amount and he said he wasn’t sure but it kept trying to pull it from one of the gift cards I used which doesn’t have any money left on it. I asked him why it didn’t just pull from my credit card and he didn’t have an answer. I also asked why the checkout process would allow me to order and pay for a new M2 Air then come back after me 3 weeks later for $5.50. He did not have an answer. He asked for another form of payment so I gave him my debit card. He told me only $5.50 would be taken from this card. Later in the day I get a text from my bank asking me to confirm a payment of $1385.54 to apple. I said no. So back on the phone with Apple asking how this has happened, etc. For some reason Apple only took out $464.71 from my gift cards totaling $470. I told the gentleman on the phone “this is not a me issue this is an Apple issue. You guys allowed me to check out and order this product and three weeks later are coming after me for $5.50. When I type in a gift card number it automatically shows up as what is left on the card. The remaining balance should be charged to my credit card.” At the end of the day he said he thinks he rectified my issue. So now my concern is my order is delayed and when payment does go through I’m either going to be double charged or it’s going to come out of my bank account rather than my credit card. Sorry for the long message but I truly believe this has something to do with their free gift card promotion. The way they charge you for it but credit you,. Has anybody ever dealt with anything like this with Apple? I own many of the products and have never in my life had to go through such a hard time to give them $1800 for product . Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you!
