It’s been a busy week for rumors and news about NVIDIA’s RTX GPUs. A filing to the Eurasian Economic Commission shows what could be new versions of the RTX 3070 Ti and 3080 on the way. A bizarre non-launch of the RTX 2060 12GB involved a retail listing for a graphics card that didn’t include a buy button. Now, a report by VideoCardz claims that the RTX 3090 Ti will be on shelves by January 27, 2022.
An alleged embargoed document listing for the RTX 3090 Ti lists an on-shelf date of January 27, 2022. Specifically, the GPU will reportedly be on shelves at 6 AM Pacific Time on that day. The document does not list an announcement date for the graphics card.
Assuming that the RTX 3090 Ti launches with the specs that we expect, it will be one of the best GPUs. It’s said to have 10,752 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X RAM, and memory speeds of 21 Gbps. Those figures are slightly higher than those of the RTX 3090.
A refreshed RTX 3050 with more VRAM is said to arrive on the same day as the RTX 3090 Ti. The new RTX 3050 will reportedly have 8GB of VRAM. This increase would be similar to what we’ve seen NVIDIA do with the RTX 2060, namely increasing the VRAM on a preexisting card.
VideoCardz has not confirmed the launch date of the upcoming RTX 3080 at this time.
