Nvidia began rolling out the Android TV 11 update to its Shield TV devices yesterday and today it’s announced that GeForce Now members can stream Fortnite to Android and iOS devices via a closed beta program that aims to test server capacity.
Starting today, GeForce Now members can sign up to join the closed beta program to test streaming Fortnite to mobile devices. GeForce Now members with a Priority or RTX 3080 subscription will receive priority access to the gaming servers.
“Alongside the amazing team at Epic Games, we’ve been working to enable a touch-friendly version of Fortnite for mobile delivered through the cloud. While PC games in the GeForce NOW library are best experienced on mobile with a gamepad, the introduction of touch controls built by the GeForce NOW team offers more options for players, starting with Fortnite.”
The closed beta will begin rolling out next week and besides testing server capacity it will also be used to gauge graphics delivery as well as the new touch controls that were developed by Nvidia side-by-side with Epic Games. Those with Android devices can access the beta via the GeForce Now app while iOS users can do so via the Safari browser on their device.
