If you’re the kind of guy who loves to test out a new OS as soon as it is available and see what it’s made of, then you’ll be happy to hear that the beta for One UI Watch 6 has been out and ready for testing for quite a bit now, particularly if you own a Galaxy Watch 6. However, that exclusivity has ended, and if you have a Watch 4 or a Watch 5, you’ll now be able to test things out too.

There are several big caveats at the moment though. First of all, you won’t be able to test out the beta if you’re on any special edition model of any of these watches, with the exception of the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro Golf Edition. If you have an LTE model of any of the eligible watches, you also won’t be able to join in on the fun, which sucks; you’ll need to have a Bluetooth model. Also, at the moment, it seems to only be available for folks in the US and South Korea.

If you’re interested in testing out the One UI Watch 6 beta, you can do so by using the Samsung Members app (which you can download from the Google Play Store) on your smartphone. From there, you should see a card near the top of the screen advertising the One UI Watch 6 beta. Press it, select Join beside your Galaxy Watch model, and your Galaxy Wearable app will get the update and push it to your connected smartwatch.

What Perks Will One UI Watch 6 Be Bringing To The Table?

That’s a good question. Of course, to nobody’s surprise, Galaxy AI rears its head, and you get it powering more in-depth sleep analysis and energy level tracking features. However, it will take time for the AI to learn, so you won’t be able to see them in action on the very first day that you start using the beta.

You’ll also be able to use a double-pinch gesture to do some cool things like scroll through notifications and switch off alarms, and a little finger icon will let you know when this gesture is available for use. Tapping on the bottom of the watch face will also show you your active background apps so you can jump between them in a flash.

Generally speaking, there’s quite a lot that’s been added to the new OS and you can give it a shot on your Samsung smartwatch and let us know what you think.
