For one thing, it uses the brand new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor under the hood. It’s not just a basic upgrade to the original Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, as its design is already considered a generational jump. On paper, what looks like a few simple bumps in spec numbers here and there results in a massive 60%+ increase in synthetic benchmark performance over its predecessor (and even against other similar competitors like the Dimensity 8100).
When paired with an effective internal cooling system, it feels almost the same as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the premiere SoC for many flagship models last year.
Supporting its next-generation chipset is LPDDR5X RAM support, which in this case is topped at 16GB, also combined with a maximum of 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. And as expected, the Ace 3V does have its vapor chamber cooling system, to help sustain the increased performance level of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
Other Specs
In terms of design, the Ace 3V sports a somewhat updated new look (compared to the Ace 3), with flat sides and a chamfered frame. It retains OnePlus’ signature alert slider on the left side. Around the back, there’s a new vertically stacked pill-shaped camera module in the top left corner.
The screen is basically a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera. The panel features a 1.5K resolution (2772 x 1240), 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,150 nits of peak brightness. It also supports 2,160Hz PWM dimming and has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
In the camera department, the Ace 3V has a dual rear setup led by a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS. There’s also an 8MP ultra-wide shooter. On the front, you get a 16MP selfie cam. Battery specs show the typical 5,500mAh capacity, supporting the standard OnePlus 100W SuperVOOC charging. The official charge speed estimate is about 26 minutes for 1-100% using this configuration.
Other specs include Wi-Fi 7, NFC, dual speakers, and an IP65 resistance rating. The phone will be available in Magic Purple Silver and Titanium Air Grey colors, and it runs Android 14-based OxygenOS (ColorOS) 14 out of the box.
Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus Ace 3V is launching first in China, and pre-orders are open now. Pricing starts at $280 for the 12GB/256GB model and goes up to $360 for the top 16GB/512GB variant. Like with all other Ace-branded OnePlus phones, we can expect the Ace 3V to launch under the company’s Nord branding when it launches outside of China, possibly designated as the Nord 5. However, an exact global release date has not been announced.
Aside from the Ace 3V launch, OnePlus has also confirmed that the cheaper OnePlus Nord CE4 with the standard Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip will precede the Ace 3V variant. It is slated to launch on April 1st (yup). We can then hopefully expect the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 powered “Nord 5” to be available several months later.
